Life Finds a Way...

First off I want to welcome you to my little world over here and I appreciate the interest! It's a special place and I hope you find a little piece of yourself here. It's been a long and interesting road to starting on this artist journey of mine so let me explain a few things (it would take way more space to write out my entire life story so I'll try to keep it simple). Although I've always been artistic I never thought I would be "an artist". Growing up I always thought it would be more of a hobby than a career - a way to escape some negative situations and a form of self expression - but here we are today and life sure can throw you some curve balls!

I had a pretty sweet job - working with bugs, fossils, and all things natural world was a dream come true. Then things kinda flipped upside down. I started experiencing extreme pain in my hips and back and was so tired that I could hardly stay focused. Long story short I was diagnosed with a progressive autoimmune disease (more on that later) and had to change everything about my life. Upon leaving what I thought would be a career I felt lost and alone - confused - everything I knew had changed. It took some time but I found myself drawing and painting again and realised how much I loved it - it was more than just a hobby - this was a passion. I went back to school taking art classes which confirmed these feelings. I began to feel alive again - like I could DO something. I felt like I was gaining back purpose in my soul. Which I must say is a pretty awesome feeling. And for there, well, I just kept going...

So here we are, a short tidbit into what got me here. Trust me, there is much more to this story but to write that into one blog would be way too intense, even for the most dedicated readers. Stick around and you'll get to read more incites into my work, life, and all things from my perspective! This is the first post so it's on a weird day but I will do my best to post something new around once or twice a week!
